There is an African proverb that says, “When two elephants fight, it’s the grass that gets injured.” In Northern Uganda, the elephants are many. For two decades, a war between Museveni’s government forces and a rebel group known as the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has devastated Northern Uganda. Through inhumane terror, the LRA has abducted over 25,000 children, often forcing them to commit atrocities, sometimes even against their own families. The UN has called the situation the “world’s worst neglected humanitarian crisis”.
Mindset travelled to Northern Uganda and produced a feature-length documentary “Uganda Rising” that chronicles the plight of the Acholi children and their continous fight for hope.
